Hello, I have observed multiple fisherman on the OP that seem to be in the now. They were using clear plastic bobbers. Anyone know of a site where I can purchase them. And what are the best bobbers? I am not sure with all of the ones that are out there.

Also, when using a bobber that is rated for 3/8 oz. Does a 3/8 oz jig and then a 3/8 oz in line sinker put it out of sink? Should this be fished without the inline sinker?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

sound like cleardrifts or drennans. both are nice, but more than i care to spend on "consumable" tackle. some of the locals around here use the rainbow plastics "tough bubble" for summer runs and do pretty well...

most of the bobbers that come with a weight designation are meant to be fished with that much weight total. most of my jig fishing is with 1/8oz jigs, but 1/8oz floats are usually pretty small, so i'll go with a 3/8 or 1/2oz rated bobber and an inline weight.

If you're in forks right now Forks Outfitters carries the Clear Drift floats now. Love them, they are all I use. They sell them for less than outdoor emporium too.

I was just going through my gear boxes, thinking of posting some stuff for sale that I no longer use.

I have a bunch of clear floats with red tops used for float or centerpin fishing. I'd give them to you if you pay for shipping.

Not that I want to take any business away from Clear Drifters.

I just looked it up as I didn't know what brand they were. What I have are Blackbird Phantom Floats by Redwing Tackle. Not near as popular as Drennan or Raven out in the mid west or Clear Drifters out here but the upside I guess is they are free.

Saw drenans for the first tim at the sportsman show like 3-4 years ago, finally found them at teds in lynnwood, I have a super small 7 gram float, I freekin love it, I can cast it with my 8'6" bait caster and spinning setup, but my rod of choice for that float is a 6'6" with a pretty small reel and 4lb, and have caught many 10lb plus steelhead on it, I love using the small gear on small creeks around here

Actually a 7 gram float being small is all relative since I have a couple that are 3.7 grams and they probably make them smaller yet. I agree that you can catch 10 lb steelhead on 4 lb test but a 6 1/2 foot rod seems kinda short to be able to mend effectively with. Obviously you have figured out how to do it.

Ya, one one kinda by mistake, I was fishing for trout in a very small creek near darrington and I saw her, then she disapeared under a huge rock/log I was sitting on, my pw stopped and I thought for sure it was stuck on the rock until she was down there doin the death roll.another was at 1pm on the snoqualmie right in fall city, she instantly had me across the river doin the marlin dance, it was defenetly one of my most memerable, both of those fish were released unharmed even though the snoqualmie fish was only missing half of its adapose fin, I wasn't about to take any chances
