For those of you who fish year round, like I do. I am wondering what your favorite winter time lake is? My favorite winter time lake is Lake Washington. You have to put your time in on the big lake but the rewards are excellent. There are some big trout in there that feed during the winter time.

If I had to pick one..... Midge fishing on Spanaway Lake.
American Lake comes in a very close second.

BBVD, I have had good success on Washington with pop gear, wedding ring, and a worm. It's a lot of gear to be dragging through the water but it produces big 'bows and cutts. Troll around the I-90 bridge or any pronounced point.

Easy,
I'm with you, Lake Washington gets my vote. Of course, the boat launch being only 3 miles away helps!

BBVD,
Think spoons. #2 and 3 Needlefish, Size 3, 3.5, and 4 Coyote. Krocodile or Dick Nite's should do the trick as well. Think fairly large size wise, 3 to 4 inches. Off a downrigger, maybe 25 to 40 feet right now. Leaded line can be very effective as well.
Where? I-90, East Channel, Juanita Bay, Kenmore.

I normally run a 2 oz. (banana) weight in front of my pop gear. I am guessing the gear runs in the top 15' of water.
Also try trolling a small (F4 or 5) frog colored Flatfish with no weight, long line it.

Lake Roosevelt is one of the best winter fisheries I know... trout over 18 inches up to six or seven pounds are common. But you can also catch limits of kokanee in the 3-5 pound size and tons of small walleye as well as some real hogs. There are even some landlocked kings, big perch in places, ling, and the occasional smallmouth. Granted it's cold, and the ramps can be icy, but the fishing is excellent most of the time. I wished I lived closer; I really miss winter on the lake.
