I was recently at blue creek and was amazed at all of the trash left by fellow fisherman along the wall at this site. I was always taught that what you pack in pack out! And then some. I was in my sled and was also dismayed by the amount of snagging going on in that area. i personally witnessed one fellow haul at least (2) fish in by the tail. Where is the wdfw? I hauled in a 3/0 hook and about 4 inches of lead tied off to 3inches of leader. Doesn't seem right.

Hey Annie... I am with you... the last time I was down at Blue Creek there was so much trash laying around... It really pisses me off!!!

I see the loss of hunting access, both private and public, and it is always listed as due to the amount of trash the hunters and fisherman leave...

I don't want to be preachy but... my hunting and fishing partner and I have always picked up trash in a the area we are... My wife always gets made because I come home with a trash bag and wants to know where it all came from?

Well... I challange all outdoorsman to take along a small trash bag with ya fishing and/or hunting... as you are walking out or as you are getting ready to drift/jet on to the next spot, pick up just the stuff laying around you and take it to a trash can (at home to help the state)...

If we all do this we will make a huge difference!!! what

I'll go one step farther. Take several garbage bags to Blue Creek. After you're done fishing pull out the bags and as you begin to clean up the mess offer garbage bags to others. Of course you'll get some blank stares and people laughing at you, but I'm willing to bet a few will take those bags and next thing you know 3-4 guys will be cleaning up. As soon as a few are cleaning the ones that laughed will shut up and a few more may help. Before you know it, the area is a lot cleaner then when you started. Sometimes all it takes is for someone to lead by example and give others the tools (in this case garbage bags) to succeed. The hard part isn't picking up the garbage it's having the courage to start the ball rolling. Good luck!

Annie, I wholeheartedly agree with you on the trash. But, snagging??? I'm down there 3x/week off the bank and I've seen no blatant, intentional snagging going on. Yes, a few come in backwards. But that's because people are drifting where fish stack up. what

Annie

I agree with you whole heartily both as a land owner and as a relative of another land owner. The two things that really jerk our chain are 1) Fishing or Hunting our Properties without coming to the Farm House and asking permission and 2) Leaving your trash and/or garbbage on our Lands.

Washington State has a Treaspass Law and it's not the Owner's responsibility to post the land, it's the Hunter or Fisherman's responsibility to ask the Land Owner or his Agent for access to a Land Owner's property, unless otherwise Posted and then and then only in accordance with his wishes once the permission is granted.

If you can not or will not follow these Guidelines you are not welcome on his or my lands and are subject to Trespass Laws and will be Prosecuted to the Fullest Extent of the Law.

It's common courtesy to follow these simple guidelines and in doing so you may find the Landowner to be on your side.

I know for a fact that if you show abbusive behavior to the Owner or others and it can cause real problems and is the reason why many Landowners close their Lands to Public Use.

Hey ACT... so as a land owner do you happen to have a deer problem that I may assist you in resolving...? laugh

As a hunter and a land owner it is hard at times for hunters to know who to ask... I post my place...

What is sad is I have access to one private property and know that there are only 2 others that have the same permission (I know the other guys)... I have on numerous occasion ask Trespassers if they know they are trespassing and the excuses that we have heard is amazing... everything from "Oh, we have been hunting here for years..." to which I replied "Oh, then you have been trespassing for years!" to "Well it's not posted.." to which I replied "Well is your front yard posted.."

Anyway... Let me know if you need deer removal service... laugh

I would be willing to set a time and date for a few of us fisherman and hunters to meet at spiffys one morning and all of us go down to blue creek and have a clean up day. Maybe meet some new friends, take a boat ride and clean up some other areas as well. Have lunch and do some good , mayb others would join in... how about it? what

I don't have many free days but if I did when you want to do this then I'm in. I'll take pictures and post like we did with our lake clean up last year.

No we don't have a problem with Deer, The Problem is with Elk have had as many 175 head in our Fields at one time. have had some real interesting times with them in the Barn before we lost the Barn. We feed them year round. You wouldn't believe the crop damage.

Twelve Elk were taken during Modern Firearm Season off our property alone all but three where taken Legally one of the illegal was taken legally a nice 6x5 Bull by a Handicapped Hunter and taken away from him by Treaspassers at Gun Point. The same treaspassers took two more Bulls and shot a Bull Calf.

What is really sad is that of the Legal Hunters Hunting the Properties there was at least three Handicapped Hunters and these Bozo's ruinned the Hunt for them.
