I've got two small kids (4 & 6) and I'd like to find a couple of small Eastside ponds where we can find some ravenous sunfish or perch.

We're limited to bank access.

At this age, they don't have a long attention span and the best way for me to nurture their interest is to find spots where we'll have "guaranteed" success with a piece of worm, a size 8 or 10 hook and a little bobber.

We've had poor success at Sammamish (from the park.) And it seems like Beaver and Pine lakes are over fished.

How far do you want to drive?
There are some ponds near Cle Elum and Ellensburg,that are open year round and have bank acsess. Fio Rito ponds are past E-burg but have lots of shoreline and are planted on a fairly regular basis. The seep lakes behind Potholes Res. is another good spot...30 or more smaller lakes and ponds with good shoreline for fishing and most are open yr round. This time of yr some are frozen,but not nearly enough to ice fish on.
