Last week I was out and caught two Cutts along the I-90 bridge. I caught both fish right after I got there (around 10:00 am). Do you have to get on the water early?? I didn't get anything after 10:30.

Thanks for the information... mid day sounds better this time of year to me anyway. This last trip out was the first time I actually caught anything. I was skunked the previous trips.
Thanks again,
Dan

I am going to give the big lake a shot this weekend. Gotta finish up trying out my new downrigger, an experimental downrigger release clip, and a new black box.

Busy, I have a full boat both days, Sat and Sun, this weekend. We can hook up another time.
Kingfisherman, I will be in a tan w/red stripes 14' aluminum. The side of my boat says Easy Limits. You can't miss it.
See ya out there.

Ok folks, here is some of my "HOT TIPS" for fishing Lake Washigton. 1) Troll fast 2) No need to start at O'dark thirty 3) Always be sure to fish during a tide change Cigar

3) Always be sure to fish during a tide change I know fishing during tide change is optimum for salt water. Do you think this is this also true for fresh water?

I believe prior post is on to valuable info re. cutts in Lake WA.
The tide changes roughly match the peak solunar tables when the moon is due south.
I have tried to follow these charts and have been rewarded with larger catches.
Our largest cutt was 8lbs and 28 inches and she hit at the peak time at 1030 in the am a few winters ago. The time was mid Jan and we had a mild rain at that time.
Of course, C and R to add to the gene pool. BTW, cutts turn off for me in Afternoon, could be I usually turn in by then.
FWIW, sunny calm days provide the fewest hits.

Very interesting. Could tide change effect non-tidal water?

Easy - my understanding is that 'tide change' is affected by the pull of the moon, in other words gravity fields. The larger the body of water the more noticible the effect. the Great Lakes have tide tables of thier own. Lake Washington, by no means on a par with the Great Lakes is still a larger body of water than say Rattlesnake Lake near North Bend. It will have a more noticible change due to the 'pull' of the moon. Probably not noticable enough though to have a 'high tide and low tide'. Rivers that dump into larger bodies of water, i.e. the Sound and the Ocean, will have high and low tides because of the direct connection to the large body of water. The Cedar which dumps into Lake W. will not have the 'high' and 'low' tide changes because the Lake does not really change that much. Hope that helps.

Fished the big lake today from 8-2. Worked hard trolling along I-90, up to Medina, across 520, then down the west shoreline back to the launch. Had a couple of bites around Bill's house but nothing to the boat. I will be going out there again tomorrow. I think we will hit the south end of the lake this time.

Easy,
Did you get to play with your new black box? How did it do for you?
I'm interested in getting one for me to use this next salmon season?
Where did you get yours, Outdoor Emporium, or did you order it?

I played with it on Saturday for a little while. I forgot to bring the owners manual with me in the boat. I was not sure how to hook it up correctly without the manual.
Plus, I was playing host both Sat and Sun on the big lake so I needed to focus on fishing and not playing with my new toy.
I got mine from Cabelas.

any special reason for Cabelas? Did it have features the ones at Outdoor Emporium didn't... or was it because they deliver to your doorstep?
Are you fishing the lake on Thursday? If so, send me your phone number to "billwnr@hotmail.com". I'll be out there provided it's not raining too hard. Oh.. send the phone number of where you're sitting right now and I'll call you.
