I have my own thoughts as to want should be done to every TSA agent, but I won't say that here.

There doesn't seem to be a way to not offend with that situation. Shameful.

They need to have someone at each screening area that has enough authority to make a common sense call. I know rules are rules and their just trying to keep us safe BUT.

Great point. Policies and protocols are fine but there has to be someone with thinking authority who won't get hammered for making an informed decision.

The terrorist have indeed won. The proof is that Americans have changed the way we live and travel. That Homeland Security and TSA even exist is proof that the terrorists won.

This whole thing is f'n stupid beyond belief. Who in their right mind believes any terror group could pull off an airline hijacking in the US ever again? It used to be that passengers and crew were told to cooperate with hijackers because they only wanted money, friends let out of prison, or wanted to go to Cuba or somewhere. 9/11 changed that forever. No one will ever cooperate with would-be hijackers ever again.

Give me a plane with well armed pilots, crew, and passengers any day. Politeness and good behavior will be rampant.

OK GLU you have a point. Life is uncertain. Security against every possibility is impossible. What next? TSA at every train station and bus stop? The current thesis is that every traveler is a suspect. However the track record indicates that with the exception of Timothy McVeigh, all bombers have been Muslim Arabs, and all suicide bombers have been Muslim Arabs. It appears that non-Muslims aren't interested in dying to make a point. Was the diaper-wearing old woman a Muslim or Arab?

My biggest insult from the TSA came when I had a worker that had either spent very little time in this country or grew up not learning english searching me and my belongings.

I can drive up to McChord AFB and board a military aircraft and fly anywhere in the world.
And I can accomplish this without having my junk poked my diaper checked or my oil checked.
Clearly TSA hasn't a clue as where the real threats are.

I am a former agent, my wife and brother are current agents.
