Naw, she will spend the rest of her life making a better man out of Twitch. It's a win-win situation. And none too soon for Twitch; the poor boy was bound to become a derelict, although his various fishing talents were hope for reprieve.

Congrats Twitch! Now your fishing days will be limited. Ha Ha! How come we didn't get an invite? Good looking gal! No wonder I didn't see you fishing the gorge during my vacation.

I was invited and attended a wedding reception for a fishing buddy on the Siletzs down at the Gazebo below the park late last month.

I also got another invite for a wedding in Logs den next month for a newer fishing buddy who lives on the river.

Seems that all the young bucks down there are getting hitched.

No, but before the marriage she told him he needed a new boat.

Yes, back in December, she told me I should sell my current boat, and buy my dream boat. She was affraid that once we were married, and (down the road) should children enter the picture, I would convince myself that such a purchase wasn't possible, and that I would never get my "dream boat".

haha... well, it was river themed. We simply went a few miles from the house, with seven members of our family, and got married on the bank in the upper Alsea River. (on that big piece of flat-ish rock in the pic)

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Twitch. Sounds like things are coming together very well.

The whole concept of boat purchases and marriage got me thinking.

I bought my first boat at more or less the same time I bought a wedding ring, immediately prior to proposal. As irony, more like simple odds would have it, I wound up proposing on a river as part of a ride in the aforementioned vessel. She said yes and I landed a steelhead on my first cast after having proposed. I took that as a sign.

The second, boat that is, came just prior to getting hitched. In the same vein as your purchase, I figured better get it now lest my dream boat be left unattainable post tying the knot.

I just pulled of my first post-marriage boat purchase and I have to say, it was painful, but not unsurvivable. Just took a little more explaining, justifying, spreadsheet work, and arm twisting as compared to the first couple.

May you both enjoy a long and enjoyable future together full of fond memories and good times.
