I would like to try fishing for Cutthroat trout this weekend and I was wondering which lake people would recommmend? Also what methods work best for this time of year? I have a boat. Thanks in advance.

Take your pick. Both lakes will be hit or miss. I spend more time on WA than Samm.

For gear: you can't beat pop gear, wedding ring, and a worm. If the cutts are in a biting mood this set up will do the trick. You will want your offering anywhere between the surface and 35' of water. The middle of the day with high sun will be better than early in the morning.l

Good Luck!

Neither lake is real hot right now. My brother hit Samm. on Monday, with no luck. He tried Wa. yesterday and had a couple strikes,in 3 hrs. He tried the set-up Easy mentioned, and also a small flasher and spoon. Only saw one fish caught,in two days of fishing.

I fished Lake WA last Friday between 1PM and 4PM. Had one good hit that even moved the downrigger.... and no hook up. Only thing I can figure is the fish hit a blade and not the hook.

Weather was good and on the way back the boat clocked 48mph
