I was listening to Dave Ross one morning and the former union rep was on talking about the strike at that time. Been a bit but the heart of it as I recall was with Airbus competition, China in the future, the cost of doing business in general, that the strike was way past stupid. That it was going to result in no new model production in PS as Boeing had many options. Strike went on, Gov showed up and pranced around, then strike was over but I will be damned if the former union rep's warning is not coming true.
Dodged the bullet with the tanker thing but that is not a new line like the Dreamer. Seems to go that way with large corporations as they get get bad management and the unions over reach and wella crap flies as the blame game begins.
Little edit:" Sure, Boeing wants a cheap, malleable non-union workforce (you get what you pay for: I sure want to fly in those airplanes)."
I am a union member with a pension and medical, that said why on earth do some union supporters like the guy that wrote the article think that non union workers are idiots or worse incapable of being a functional human being? I sure appreciated my union but hell it was a challenge to compete with non union shops and in the end we got down sized big time.
