I have a couple of small jobs that need done and I know if I do them they will be screwed up. I just had a guy come out and give me an estimate of $885.00 for what he thought would be three hours work. That seems crazy to me. More than $250 per hour???? Is that normal?

If you have a solid plumber you can recommend who will work in Duvall works for a good deal less than $250 an hour I would love their phone number.

My Uncle Ed was a plumber. I remember him saying, "The only thing you have to remember is payday is on Friday, and sh!t don't run uphill." Must have worked for him. He owned a house on Deer Lake on Whidbey, and one in Richmond Highlands, even after having 5 wives. He was 78 when he died. His car was a 240 Z and he had a "girlfriend".

I have a son who is a plumber, but he lives in Wenatchee.

I had a shower/tub unit and a washer hookup installed with all hardware for about 1200. Plumber said he was glad to have the work since he was down from a crew of 8 to just him and his partner now.

If the bid is detailed, I would fax it around and see if you can get bids off of it. I was had a job recently and bids went from over $250 to the $100.00 I finally paid. The work only took about 15 minutes but getting anyone to come out for a small job was hard. Despite being over priced, they all seemed to have a week lead time. Makes me wish I was a plumber.

About 50% is what I figured, 600 parts and about 600 labor for 2 men 3hr's.
