I'm not a particular fan of Mr. Rattigan, but given what I just watched I may start paying a little more attention to what he has to say. I fully agree with everything he states during this rant. I HOPE our President will listen AND make the necessary CHANGE. The partisan $hit needs to stop, the corruption needs to stop, the country needs to pull together NOW! Meltdown

He's a pretty well-known economist, and even though he's on MSNBC, he's far from partisan...he rips Obama for failures regarding the economy all the time.
I guess the "partisan" part of him is that he actually rips on him for stuff that's true, rather than made up, like the "non-partisans" on the "fair and balanced" channel.
Fish on...

I was wondering when one of the liberal talking heads would get fed up. Thought it might be Mathews but he needs to rename his show " T - Ball " as he has turned into a parrot. Liberal or Conservative it is not that a approach that the country can stomach can not be found it is the utter lack of courage in BOTH of the corrupt parties.
From energy to trade if you read and watch ( not being a ranting party idiot and buying Libs want the government to run your life / or the conservatives want corporations to rule the world crap ) solutions are available. As they said we have gotten legislators bought and paid for not just the federal level but at the state & local levels. Look at this state. Patty Murray ran to break away from the old school politics ( I voted for her ) now she is nothing than shrill voiced party hack representing NOTHING but what got us in our present mess or at least the 50% that is the D's doing. Good ole Slade ( A.K.A. Snidely Whiplash ) was not he a jewel from the other side? We need to dump both of the corrupt bastard parties while we still have a country.
By the way his math was what the true numbers are best I have been able to figure out.

There's good news and bad news. The good news is only 24% of the people polled said this congress deserves to be re-elected... The bad news is 56% said THEIR rep deserves to be re-elected... Therein lies the problem and it's why we're all fukked. No Hank we'er fukked because 20% of Americans think Obama is a Muslim. Where do you suppose they got that idea?

In the 50's and 60's it was called propaganda, now it's called Fair and Balanced news.

If every elected politician had the fire in their gut that Mr. Rattigan displayed, I can't help but think this mess would have been avoided.

FS you need to watch MSDNC sometime if you do you will see it is all across the board just depends on which view you come from. Hell I am liberal as hell and I find that bunch of clowns at MSNBC embarrassing to even watch. Although got to admit Maddow did a great job on Japanese Nuke thing , but alas she got right back on the train headed down the DNC tracks..

MSNBC took the Fox News model and found their niche with the Left Wing just as Fox found their niche with the Right Wing.
If you can't see through to the real truth, that it's all about ratings and ultimately advertising dollars, then you're an idiot.
Is Fox REALLY that conservative? Look at the crap programming they broadcast on their 'regular' channel...it's all about the money....and the idiots on both sides that suck up what the talking heads spout off in their talking points as if it is gospel.
The only way we as a country are going to survive is to meet back in the middle and come up with some good ideas.
Like it or not the taxes need to be raised and the spending needs to be cut so we can pay some of this debt off.

The U.S. Chamber is committed to pro-growth tax policies that preserve America’s global competitiveness, and it opposes tax increases that reduce businesses’ ability to grow, invest, and create jobs. In these fragile economic times, it would be the height of economic folly to target business—or any group of Americans—for a major tax increase.
In other words you will never see a tax increase.

I'd buy that if businesses were using the savings to grow, invest, and create jobs...instead of what they're actually doing, which is pocketing the money and creating nothing.
They're shooting themselves in the foot, in the long run...if no one can afford to buy whatever it is they're selling, then their pocketed savings is all they'll have.

Hey T you got that one. The money corporations are parking off shore is from foreign profits which are huge and they are not going to bring it back and loose it to taxes as the stock holders would kill em. Companies in country big & small are parking big time and not investing to be sure.
Both things are driven by the US tax code. The Corp I worked for went RIT dropped the tax bill from 32% to 18% but had to shed production facilities so several thousand jobs went nation wide. Every plant was making money, in fact a Japanese customer guaranteed cost plus on a five year contract for one. Now the company resisted this for a while but insurance and investment firms ( mutual funds / IRA's / ect ) held huge blocks of stock and insisted on greater return on investment. So who is at fault?
In my mind it is congress and those who think businesses pay taxes. They DO NOT but simply pass a tax cost on to the end consumer of the product they produce. We need to revise the code so to get to zero taxes they have to invest heavily in R&D, production facility upgrades and new ventures not this perverted scheme we have now. To increase profits by reducing productivity / production and investment is nuts.
Oh yeah, a D Senator has a idea of giving the Corps a tax holiday on the offshore money if they bring it back and invest 25% or so. Somebody knows more about this than I do, I am sure. Good idea though.
