Anyone have info on Soft Plastic Boats 8 to 12 feet by O'Brian international of Redmond? They sold out to another company, such as rubbermaid, anyone know who it was? The boats were very popular for awhile, several were seen around the northwest in a blue or white color. They are very light and would make a good boat for small lakes. beathead beathead

Troutfisherman,
Check out Walker Bay Boats. I have a Walker Bay 8. Its great for fishing small lakes and even larger lakes that are protected from heavy wind. THese boats are made out of injection molded plastic, which is extremely light weight and very tough. I can seat two people comfortably, and load/offload by myself easily. Ive had mine for 2 years and love it. Great for trolling and anchor fishing. Brand new, i think they are 350-400bucks.

They were called the O'Brien "Polywog". Coleman International bought out a rotational molding company in Monroe to do knee-boards and windsurfers. I believe the company had two boat molds but O'Brien only used the 8' model. I made the sail kit mock-up for them in the early 80's. They gave me a boat, it has been in my backyard and only used once, make me an offer." bank walker" is right, the Walker Bay is a nice updated version that is probably much better in terms of stability and safety.

My Grandpa gave me his 8' blue polywog about two years ago. It's great for small lakes and it even fits in the trunk of my '88 prelude! It looks a little funny driving down the road in a sports car with an 8' blue boat sticking straight out of the trunk! I've gotten some strange looks! rofl It's a great boat though - very easy to transport by yourself.
