"Results are based on telephone interviews conducted as part of Gallup Daily tracking survey Sept. 12-13, 2011, with a random sample of 1,010 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia"

I wonder if the people that Gallup polled were told the median estimate of 34 economists surveyed said the president’s jobs bill would “add or keep” 275,000 jobs in 2012, and just 13,000 in 2013? That runs around $1.586 mil per job if the full $487 billion is spent.

They were probably told Obama estimates 1.9 million jobs will be "created or kept" for that money. That's only around $240K per job and far more reasonable.

For the benefit of those less ignorant than yourself, I included both the RWNJ and the LWNJ guesses. I made no mention of more tax cuts, rolling back regulations, environmental protections or lowering the minimum wage.

It appears you're in line with spending $240K per job. We'll just have to see how well that works out.

The key to the whole deal is right here:

"The jobs bill President Obama proposed has many parts to it, and most Americans at this point no doubt do not understand fully what would be involved if it were to be passed either in part or as a whole."

Its alot like asking Aunty to handicap the NFL, she doesn't really follow it, and only knows a little about the Raiders. Since pollsters call telephone numbers during the day, who do you think they get to talk too? The rich? Nope. The employed? Nope.

When President Obama talks about "the rich" paying their fair share he throws around names like millionaires, but when the details usually come out the rich are the $200k a year crowd. I don't think that is very honest marketing, particularly from a guy who was going to "change politics as we know it."

And RantyM continues to amaze us with her high level of dimwittedness and an even higher propensity for ignorance.

Keep it up Ranty...make us proud.

BLITZER BLOG: Poll numbers should alarm Dems

Las Vegas (CNN) – There are some numbers in our new CNN-ORC International poll that should seriously worry President Obama and the Democrats.

Republicans are right now a lot more enthusiastic about voting in the next election than Democrats. Some 64% of Republicans say they are extremely or very enthusiastic compared to only 43% of Democrats.

There were similar numbers in the 2010 mid-term elections and we know how well the Republicans did in Congress, including re-taking the majority in the House.

Democrats, by contrast, were much more enthusiastic in 2006 and 2008, and that certainly showed in the elections then.

But for the president, there may be an even more alarming number.

Among all voters, 59% think that President Obama’s policies will fail compared to only 36% who say they will succeed.

In 2010, 47% thought the president’s policies would fail. And back in 2009, only 32% thought the president’s policies would fail.

You see the trend, and it’s not good for the president’s re-election prospects.

Obama's current policies are going to fail because they are repeats of policies that failed. But what makes you think we'll vote for the Rep. candidate, whose policies also will fail?

Dems wouldn't vote for a Republican candidate if you held their hands to the fire. Republicans think the same for a Dem candidate. Obama's running on the same failed policies that are fresh in everyone's mind; voting for him would be sorta like doing the same thing and expecting different results.

Just as in the last election, Indies will decide who the prez will be and right now they're not too keen on what's in there now.

What policies has Obama actually been able to implement that have failed Hank? huh

Be specific and maybe try backing up your assertion with some actual facts for a change. wink

Indies may not be too keen on Obama right now... but I guarantee they're even less keen on a Rick Perry, Herman Cain, Mitt Romney or Michelle Bachmann and a return to the ABSOLUTELY failed policies that destroyed our economy and put us in this mess in the first place.

Talk about doing the same thing over and expecting a different result... cowboy

My mind has not been made up as of yet but with the GOP still trying to not raise taxes, except on everyone but the top 1%, cut taxes to those 1%'s and increase drilling to sell OUR natural resources to the highest bidder(not us).
The GOP continues to hold onto false ideals that would further stagnate this country and put more pressure on the middle class and that is astonishing enough, except that there are many, including here that will continue to drink in what the GOP espouses and vote against their own interests!

I have to say that I am definitely leaning toward voting again for President Obama.
Perhaps the lesser of two evils, but at least he is trying to give something back to those that pay the bills, the average citizen.

If any one of you clowns that are staunchly defending the GOP can show me what the GOP has done for me definitively I'll shut my mouth. I'll be even more impressed if you are one of those 1%ers that the GOP has worked so hard for.

There you go, flame away!
