Nile Gardiner of London's Daily Telegraph reports that Gallup polling shows "little confidence among the public that the administration's big government approach is going to succeed in creating jobs and getting the economy back on its feet." Fifty-six percent of Americans are very dissatisfied with the ways things are going in our country. Only 11% are satisfied and 1% very satisfied.

Polls, Polls, Polls, whomever pays for them shall reap the rewards.
The GOP continues to say they will not agree to anything that raises taxes, but all of their proposals raise taxes on the 99 % of us and those still swilling the kool-aid continue to carry the water for this hypocrisy.
Which one of you here has become one of the 1%ers because of the road map laid out by your beloved GOP?
Take your time as I know you have to Google something.

I agree, trotting out the "regulatory uncertainty is stopping hiring" is 100% total unadulterated bullschit talking point straight from FauxNews...it has no actual basis in truth, none whatsoever, and any business that is saying that is lying...they just want less regulation.
Fish on...
Todd – There is little appetite among American voters for additional regulations coming out of Washington. Three quarters (74%) of voters throughout the country believe that businesses and consumers are over-regulated. Further, another two thirds (67%) believe that regulations have increased over the past few years. These percentages include majorities of all partisan affiliations, with 91% of Republicans, 75% of Independents and 58% of Democrats saying businesses/consumers are over-regulated. – A key fear among voters is that regulations will hinder job creation, as most believe the result of new regulation will be either job losses (47%) or increased prices for American made goods and services (22%). – More than two thirds (70%) believe increasing the number of regulations on American businesses will result in more jobs moving overseas. Also, majorities agree that the increasing number of regulations have created uncertainty for large and small businesses (66%), and that agencies who enforce regulations fail to consider how their decisions lead to increased prices for consumers and job losses (69%). – A majority (56%) agrees that “more government intervention and regulation to the process of overseeing business means you have less accountability because everyone assumes someone else is in charge”, while only 38% agree more that additional regulation leads to more accountability because of the increased number involved in oversight. – One of the highest points of agreement in the survey is the fact that 73% concur that “every time the federal government mandates a new regulation on America’s large and small business, the prices of American made good and services like gasoline and food go up.” Only 22% supported the view that “while many federal regulations might be just another burden to operations of America’s large and small businesses, customers do not see major cost increases for American made goods and services like gasoline and food.” – Voters are simply unaware that Congress is not in a lead position with regard to regulation, as a majority say that Congress (52%) creates regulations. However, there is a strong desire for checks and balances in creating regulations, as two thirds (65%) favor requiring regulations be approved by Congress and the President before they are enforced. Voters do not want a regulatory process that takes away legislative duties reserved for Congress – just as they do not want judges legislating from the bench. This strong support for Congressional involvement is consistent across partisan groups, including among Democrats (67%), Republicans (65%) and Independents (64%). – Voters also see a personal connection to new regulations, with majorities saying they are negatively impacted from regulations ranging from those that try to control the banking and financial industry (59%) to those that tell American businesses which workers they can hire (57%) to regulations that dictate what light bulbs Americans must purchase (60%). A majority of both conservatives (61%) and liberals (54%) say they are negatively impacted by regulations that tell American businesses which workers to hire. – There are some positive connections to regulations, with solid majorities saying they are positively impacted by those that require certain safety levels for drinking water (72%) or require controls to ensure better safety at schools and in the workplace (66%). – When presented with a lengthy explanation of the Boeing case — where the federal government has filed a lawsuit over the their motivations for locating a new facility in the non-union state of South Carolina — fully 78% of voters side with Boeing in agreeing that a business should be able to open a facility in any state, and that the government should not be involve in the decision about where Boeing or any company locates new plants.

List the Republican proposals that will raise taxes for 99%. Take your time as I know you have to Google something. Easy one Hanky, Ready? Sure your ready? None of the Republicans is in favor of eliminating the Bush era tax breaks which were meant to expire, thereby putting more of the burden on the working classes. I could copy and paste but you already know this! Fishy

I could copy and paste but you already know this! Fishy The something that smells fishy is you. Ending the Bush era tax breaks that were meant to expire would have a far bigger impact on the middle and lower class than it would have on the "rich". For example, The Tax Policy Center estimates that a married couple with two kids under 13 and a household income of roughly $75,000 could end up paying about $2,600 more in federal income taxes than they would if the tax cuts were extended. But you probably already knew this.

Spin spin spin.
Explain to me how the income and profits of those in the investment classes has risen over 400 % as apposed to the average citizen at only 4%.
Most economists call for a repeal of those tax GIFTS to the corps and wealthy and a closing of the loopholes enjoyed only by those that can employ tax lawyers or lobbyists.
Hank, how do you have the time to argue with EVERYBODY? Don't fish, hike, play outside, hunt or any activity that takes you away from the computer?

Most in the GOP favor reform of the tax code that eliminates loopholes. Check out the Ryan Plan and tell me what you disagree with in that regard. I was fishing yesterday.

You may as well have pointed to a quote from Ted Kaczynski for as much traction as that will ever have!
Nice try Hanky.

As if that has a chance in hell of passing, with the GOP grabbing campaign donations hand over fist so corporations get to KEEP what loopholes they paid for? Hank, you're a liar AND a schmuck. Need you be reminded of the amount of money the Obama campaign got from corporations? Don't you recall that Wall Street contributed far more to Obama than they did to the GOP? Don't you remember the Dodd amendment to the TARP bills that allowed Wall Street to retain their bonuses? Do you understand at all how Dodd-Frank protects them? No, you don't.

Both sides suck and I've made it pretty clear that for now, my support is going to Roemer. If that numbskull Perry can skyrocket overnight and Cain can con his way to the top of the polls, Roemer could too. Not likely, I admit, but if Americans really want to turn the tide, he's the one to do it.
You should get used to the fact Romney will be nominated.

You should get used to the fact Romney will be nominated. You're probably right about that one...which also means that we need to get used to the words "flip-flop" being at the top of the list of the most used words in the political vocabulary next year.
