Anyone been over to Jameson this fall. All the reports I have seen are pretty discouraging.

If you saw my report then I wouldn't bother with Jameson unless you want to catch lots of small fish. It would be a great place to take kids as the small fish are more than willing to sacrifice their life to be caught. I've fished this lake for 25 plus years and it has progressively gone down hill. Something happened this summer to the fish that I haven't seen in the past. The October opener has been a mainstay on my fishing calendar for years, but something I'd like to see ended when the fish are so small. The hundreds of small fish that are killed daily sure make the seagulls fat and happy.

I couldn't agree more, one should stay away from that so called "fall fishery" on Jameson.

That lake happens to be one of my pet peeves. It is a very rich lake capable of producing 3-5# trout in abundance if managed as a quality lake.

As it stands, it is MIS managed as a put and take fishery for miniscule trout, and a training ground for some of the worst sportsmanship I've ever seen including: gross littering, multiple limittaking of the tiny 6-7" fish in the spring and fall, as well as frequent jerks doing catch and release BAIT FISHING to their hearts content.

It IS worth a laugh though, watching the novices jerk those tiny fall planterrs clean outa the lake and into the sagebrush.
