Specifically to give the anglers another opportunity to fish. There was a lot of pressure/issues on what was actually occurring to the steelhead after their "three strikes and your out" (of the river).

So, we decided to try some of our local lakes. Some work and some didn't. We have them in Battle Ground, Kress, and Horseshoe. We tried Klineline but they did not fair well at all.

Thanks for your reply I figured that was probably what you would say. A couple years ago they dumped some surplus hatchery coho bucks into the lake I live on didn't work out to well they were pretty nasty already when they dumped them . The people that fished for them had very little luck getting them to bite so basically it just ended up being a place to get rid of them. Some of them lasted about a month before the died, I imagine steelhead would be a better choice for doing this. smile

Yeah, I don't like having them put in lakes where they sort of waste away. We have some colder water lakes like Battle Ground where they seem to do pretty good. Kress Lake in Cowlitz County isn't necessarily as cold as Battle Ground Lake, but they sure do good there too.

We used to food bank them or use other means to disperse them and it was decided that the anglers could be given another shot at them. It's been pretty successful.

We even put excess juvenile fish in some lakes whereas they use to head off into the big lake in the sky.

Sorry it took me so long to answer by the way!
