Tell me what you can about smallmouth at Riffe lake. I spoke to the head guy at the Tacoma Light park and he said that there was a pretty good Smallmouth fishery at the upper end of the lake.

If you can't help me at Riffe how about other Washington lakes??

I think that I would like to catch a few.

i stopped by taidnapam(?) park last summer, around late july. i walked down underneath the fishing bridge, made one cast, and BAM...fish on. i fished a little 50' stretch down there and i caught a couple dozen assorted smallies and largemouth, ranged between 6-14". i was tossing 3" pumpkinseed colored grubs on 1/8oz jigheads

i'll definitely be making a trip or two down there this year just for smallmouth

Laungh at kosmos and fish out in frount of the launch, there are stumps ,creek beds, humps,weed beds at that end of the lake. Small, Largemouth and big Perch.

there's big perch in riffe lake? never caught one out of there...might have to try the flats sometime this year, looks like a fishy area

No more fish in riffe. The state just poisoned it they said the bass were eating all the salmon and steelhead fry from the upper river. They also are going to make it single barbless hook flyfishing only, catch and release when it reopens in 2006

LOL...just like the alligator gar in lake st clair?

Not sure how they do the whole poisoning thing but I have my doubts since this would also effect Blue Creek as well.

I talked to a landowner on the lake several years ago and he said that he did quite well off the bank tossing jigs in the winter time.
