...when it comes to budget cuts the Governor, or even the county executive always brings out the high profile emotional items slash?

It's never the 20-30 people sitting on their thumbs in a DSHS office, or the nine guys wearing their DOT gloves (Hands-in-Pocket), while one guy works on the side of a highway somewhere. The cuts never seem to affect the groups brought in for millions to conduct a study for some insane plan that may never get off the drawing board.

You want public support to raise taxes? Here's what you need to do under the current way of doing business, propose cuts to:

1) Public Safety (Police/Fire)
2) K-12 Education
3) Public University funding
4) Health Care for the poor or elderly

Just look what they are trying to cut from the WDFW, its never the middle managers or some of the pencil pushers, its from the hatcheries and cutting seasons because of lack of enforcement.

You always propose to cut that which will cause the loudest screams. In that way, the politicians, in fear of not being re-elected, will find some way to keep that.
