Has anyone ever fished Fish Lake over by Levenworth? I am going over in May with the kids and want to know as much as I can. We will be fly fishing.

The flyfishing is usually good for browns and rainbow by mid May. Since the only decent access is through the resort you can get information and flies to match the hatch at the resort. Leeches are good, as are chironomids and mayflys at times.

Plan on early morning and evening fishing, because the wind can really get blowin' during the middle of the day. Talk with Scott or Nadine at the Cove resort.

Big browns early in the morning by the cove feeding on small perch and rainbows.

For rainbows, you can either troll spinners and spoons, or put power bait or worms off the bottom. Not quite sure how to get browns.

Went to the lake for the first time this morning...What a great place..We limited in about an hour and a half, trolling with wedding rings and half a worm, with 18 inch leader, approx 1/2 oz weight about 10 to 15 feet down...

Fish in the cove to the left of the boat launch...We used the COVE launch...Most of the fish were caught in the middle of the cove, Not the shoreline... 9 0clock til 10:30 am then we had to pull the poles out of the water....LIMIT...

Will return next weekend if the weather permits..

Windy until the sun came out then it calmed right down..

average fish was 11 -12 inches largest 17 inches

Camped out at the Cove this weekend. The fish are really on the bite there.. Was trying to find some bigger fish but could not keep the 9 to 12 inchers from taking everything. I was trolling a larger countown rapalla in 30 feet of water and them little buggers were still bum rushing it..

Friday watched the warden write quite a few tickets for license violations.. wink Lots and Lots of action on the lake.. Excellent time to get the kids into fishing. laugh

Good Reports.

I caught my first fish ever off the dock at Fish lake, and have fished there my whole life. My AUnt and Uncle still have a killer cabin right up the road from the launch.

There are two ways to get those browns to bite. Pop gear & wedding ring with a bit of worm on the end or a float with worm set at about 6-8 feet. Big Browns are usually directly across the lake from the Cove and on the south end of the lake.
