Since the end of Prohibition that state and cities/counties have shared the state liquor tax. Gregoire has proposed that the state keep all of it to help close the 2MM budget gap. If 1183 passes, it maintains the existing state and city/county split of liquor tax, so the governor's proposal could be seen as helping I-1183. However it's up to the Legislature, and if the Leg. agrees, they could write it pre-emptively to apply either way, with state liquor stores or without.

Oh yeah almost forgot, only voted for a R twice in my life ( and I am 63 and have voted every year I could, missed in Nam ) and was going to work as a volunteer for RFK when he was killed, so your out to lunch .......... still. My voting history is all over the place, voting for who I thought was the best for the Country and paying no heed whether R or D was a factor.
