Were you trying to link to a story about the FED lending at the overnight window? That was a non-issue.
As to TARP, the bulk has been repaid, with interest.

THIS is the correct link... Yes, dogfish, you knew what I was trying to point out. Thanks for the catch! This quote is unsettling to me, regardless. The six biggest banks in the country received a total $160 billion in TARP funds, but as much as $460 billion from the Fed, raising the question as to how and why this nearly $8 trillion in loans, guarantees and limits remained under wraps for so long. According to the Fed, the massive scale of banks' borrowing — and the red ink that prompted it — had to be kept secret to avoid spooking investors and prompting a panic or bank runs that would have had even more devastating consequences on the shaken economy.

Tarp was just part of the bailout. Large part was payed back as pointed out. There was much more non TARP bailout and as far as I can find 1.54 trillion is outstanding. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Total_Wall_Street_Bailout_CostAnother question that should be asked is, as far as I can tell the banks didn't pay back the TARP loans, they bought back the collateral they gave the Treasury for the TARP loans. The collateral was the toxic collateralized sub prime debt, worthless crap. Is that now back on their books in one form or another? Do we have Enron accounting on steroids going on in the too big to fail banks?

I wish those OWS folks would just leave the poor banks alone...they are, of course, working for the benefit of all of us.
Fish on...
