Seahawks' renamed stadium needs our help

Some of the NFL's toughest venues carry not-so-tough-sounding corporate sponsor names.

Heinz Field, Gillette Stadium and Lincoln Financial Field made our top 10 anyway.

Qwest Field ranked third on the list before the Seattle Seahawks announced a change to CenturyLink Field. The switch had been anticipated since CenturyLink absorbed Qwest Communications in March, but "CenturyLink Field" doesn't exactly roll off the tongue.

"CenturyLink sounds like a industrial company that manufactures ugly fences separating old tires and crab grass from the sidewalk," wrote John McGrath of the Tacoma News Tribune

Niners get a QB in need of an attitude adjustment and a NT with some promise.

Sources told CSN Bay Area, that the 49ers signed former Ole Miss, and Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. The Daly City native who also starred at City College of San Francisco was dismissed from Oregon after two brushes with the law. Nevertheless, the dual threat quarterback remains an intriguing prospect.

The team also agreed to a contract with Notre Dame nose tackle Ian Williams. Razzano projected him as a second- or third-rounder following his 2009 season. An invitee to the Senior Bowl, Williams expected to go in rounds three to five. One publication called the fact he wasn't drafted shocking.

Is there a Fumblebeck in the Niner's future?

Yesterday afternoon Steve Young said on ESPN that he thought Matt Hasselbeck could end up in San Francisco. According to Maiocco, Steve Young knows Hasselbeck's agent very well. Chris Mortensen tweeted that Hasselbeck's options seemed to settle on Seattle, San Francisco, and Tennessee.

The Seattle Times is reporting that Matt Hasselback will not re-sign with the Hawks. I guess the Clipboard Jesus era has officially begun.

The Seattle Seahawks agreed to deals with Tarvaris Jackson and Matt Leinart following the news that free-agent quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will not return to Seattle this season, multiple sources told ESPN.
