Fished Lake Wilderness last week and experienced a dilema. Still fishing in the South end of the lake, a thunder storm came upon us very quickley. Had no idea as to what to do. Head to shore, which is lined with TALL trees or stay put. Powered by an electric trolling motor, so escape would be very slow. We decided to just sit. Storm lasted couple minutes and then the rain came in 55 gallon barrels. What should we have done?
The fish bit before, durning and after the storm.

At least get to shore. Out on the lake you're likely the tallest object around.

Definitely don't hang on to any graphite or composite fishing rods. They make great lightning rods.

Yep. Get to shore, pull the boat up for a few. Use the land time to take a whizz, smoke a bowl, chug a brew, stretch, etc.

LOL!! The dock is one thing at the potholes.. I was fishing in a mardon rental boat special back in the dunes, and came out on the main part of the lake and the storm going on turned the lake into a ocean!!! Me and my buddy decided to go right through the middle of the lake.... that was the scarest boat trip of my life... Thank god MARDON RESORT rents pretty nice boats.
