Hello All,
I'll be visiting the Seattle area in 2 weeks and will have a day to fish a lake or two. I'm new to fishing but have caught a few trout and bluegill in the local lakes and ponds. I'm using a light spinning setup.

Any suggested locations? I don't mind a bit of driving, catch and release mostly.

Thanks for any ideas,
Jay

I think you would do well at Green Lake, Echo, and Angle....I don't fish in seattle but I have heard and read that they are good lakes

Fish Hunter,
Thanks for the ideas. Anything else within a reasonable drive to suggest?

What are you considering "reasonable"?

Shoot don't trust me.. I don't fish seattle lakes...go to washingtonlakes.com that should list all the king county (the county that seattle is in) lakes and it will tell you where they are in king county...

For one day, reasonable would be about an hour each way. I won't have a boat unless a rental is available.

Thanks

a good lake to check out is lake washington in the middle of seattle. there is many docks and shore spots that you can get perch. there is a lot of little lakes around that have trout in them that will bite. i can't help you there because i don't fish trout much. i agree that the best thing to do is look at the old reports on www.washingtonlakes.com. you will learn a lot off there.
