I'm getting ready to rebuild a short 3 weight bamboo rod for a birthday present for my neighbor's little girl. I'm looking at Cabela's $69.95 rod drying rig to re-do the wraps. Does anyone know of a better deal than Cabela's? It's from PacBay.
Thanks in Advance,
Lotech Joe

I'm not 100% sure what you are looking for but I know that this site has a lot of neat stuff for do-it-yourself tackle making. Here's the rod building link...

I build a number of rods. Go to E-Bay and search under "rod building". You'll find a few rod turning motors there cheaper than anywhere else.

I went to Home Depot and bought a rotisserie motor. IIRC it was less than $15. I've built about 10 rods and it works great.

Thanks for the tip Mike, but I just ordered the one from Cabela's. If you like, I'll post a product report when I get a chance to use it. Is this the right forum for that post?

I'll try but this is a first effort. We'll have to see what happens. I returned your email.
