You are right, they are following the law and killing a lot more nats than the sport guys. Don't get me wrong, I would prefer to see nats released,

Nats can be a pain in the arse when summer run fishing. Sometimes it seems like you just can't get away from them. And their little bites itch like crazy!

I actually think Mike is an OK guy.

He just has some really annoying idiots who posts regularly on his site's bulletin board, like SlayerThisSlayerThat (the former Offdahook), Jens, Flingingpooh, and some others

everyone in public is different then they are on the internet.. its all perception and how you take someone on the internet, reality is usually oposite of your intitial perception of the person...

[Bleeeeep!], im startin to sound like FishnFoolz... i met him once, nothing but nice from him, and he doesnt remember me, and went back to being his normal self towards me on the internet...

people that post up dead nate picks like what was done, usually are arrogant assholes in real life, and dont give a sh!t what you think regardless, and are deffinately people to stay away from...

i had the opportunity to meet quite a few people from the boards the last fishing season, and all of them were 100% respectfull, and still are... but, they also dont kill nate Steelhead either...

and who the hell snaps a rod on a Pink?

I highly doubt the fisherman that kills his one NATIVE calls it quits for the rest of the season. Who are you kidding Jerry....greed is one hell of bad virtue, they'll keep coming back for more....

Also, a guy that keeps his 1 a year can still go out and CNR 19 steelhead....

You see so much of that type on WAlakes. It always surprises me to see people bragging about such a horrible subject.

Christ on a crutch man. Do you not know how many people and organizations have been trying to get that done for years? Nice intentions though.

That would be a great project and learning experience at the same time.
I'd start with the commission.

First, he would need to do some research and then put the findings into a 3 minute or less testimony to be brought up in front of the commission during public input at one of the public meetings. Pick a few commissioners and the director to talk to at these meetings and get their take on the current situation. I haven’t seen the commission take up this issue in quite awhile. There will be support if the commission is willing to look at this issue again.

Good Luck!

IF you guys put half as much energy into getting the gill nets out of the rivers during the native runs as you do bitching about a guy whacking his one nat a year you might get somewhere.

Here is the dirty little secret - when wild steelhead was available to whack in every river, the sportsmen had a greater impact on those wild fish (at least the late run) in terms of killing that the gill nets. "We have met the enemy and he is us".

Hi Godlovesugly,
I saw that too! I'm not a member of the site so I tried to sign up just to tell that dickhead he better head to another country. Fleaflickr02, that website is a joke in anybody's book. The lack of intelligence amazes me! I sometimes look at the site just to read the unbelievably illiterate posts. Some of them are so bad it honestly is almost impossible to understand what they’re saying. I couldn’t agree more about people rationalizing why they should keep a nate. I’ve heard it a million times. “Well if the Indians do it why can’t I?” If the Indians sh!t pencil lead maybe he should do that too. There are many more so called rationalizations or excuses why nates should be bonked. NONE of which have any merit PERIOD! If people want to keep native fish have them go to Lake Ozette and they can bonk all of the native northern pike minnows they want to the point their arms fall off. Just get your boat and grab a bag of pussyfors and roll. That population is out of control and bonking those things would be a service. It would help the native cutthroat. They could also satisfy their “kill instinct”. You know, that primal urge to beat the f#*k out of anything that that lives! But leave native steelhead alone!

back when natives were being bonked in all the rivers all the time we may have taken are fare share. but that just isnt the case these days. catch and release has become much more popular than it once was. and you are going to have a fare amount of guys taking there one wild fish a year, but i pearsonaly watch the indians net the hoh and quilliute on a pretty regular basis and it is pretty disgusting the amount of wild fish killed by one guy drifting a gill net trough the best holes. not to mention the set nets. its nothing to see 40-50 wild hogs in the bottom of a indians sled when the native fish are around.
