I have never fished steelhead before and I am looking for a decent spinning rod to start with. Looking for either a Lemi or GL or Good Suggestions, preferable a MED action , and at least a 10'. I plan to start with a float and jig.

So, if anyone out there has either:

1) Pity on a broke guy trying to start an expensive habit.
or
2) A spinning rod they can't stand because they moved on to a casting setup (or something similar).

Please let me know and we can work something out (i.e. money from my wallet to yours). Also, I am in Idaho, so I would imagine shipping would have to come into the equation.

i would suggest looking into the Shimano Clarus rods, they are 120 bucks, and have an over the counter lifetime warranty (non idiot related)... the Okuma SST would be another rod to consider.. you are likely to get one of those, for under the price of a used Loomis or Lamiglas... as far as reels, theres very good ones available now, that wont break the bank... then you can spend more money on the things that actually catch the fish

Thanks for the info. I have done a lot of research and I know about the budget poles. If I can't find a good used one in my budget I will look at the Shimano Clarus or St. Croix WR. I was just hoping I can get a step better for around the same money.

I already have my reel I got a sweet deal on a Pflueger Supreme
8235MGX. Use Pflueger on most of my trout rods and never had a prob with them.
