yeah he was diagnosed about a year ago... he was kinda rattled, but thought he could win... then the brain scan came, and it was worse than previously thought...
Gary was a true legend, and one of the greatest catchers, and players to ever play in the MLB...
RIP Gary, you will be missed....

Damn! I still remember his curly mullet flowing out of his catcher's helmet. too bad.........whats next Doc Goodin? Kevin Mitchel? Keith Hernandez? Lenny Dykstra? Darrel Strawberry? $hit I loved those guys....
Wasn't there a book about that season? heard it was epic...

i think there may be a book about the 86 season now that you mention it... it was about as memorable as the Kirk Gibson bomb that he nailed while injured and could barely walk in 88 with the Dodgers.... the guys in that era, WERE baseball, not like it was back then now adays, not at all....

he may have Hank, those 3 players are what catchers should thrive to be... another guy to throw in the mix would be Rodriguez, in his hay day, he was a very good catcher and ball player...
