Hydrofloat is hands down the worst line you will ever fish. So funny to see all the big name "industry experts" pimping this stuff. Pline in general is pretty crappy but do a good job of paying off a few sellouts to market it.

i aint no "industry expert", i HATE Pline... Maxima all day, or Berkely Big Game for me...

Plines line diameter is larger than other brands line diameter... i already have gotten into an arguement with a person that frequents these boards about that, and won...

in all actuallity, use what you want, and who gives a crap.... if it dont break, dont fix it...

here's a thought, chuck the friggen float. only metro men fish bobbers okay. floats are for fags. run the PW American style, drifting like a straight guy would. fling the PW and feel the savage take! learn the system not the cheater bobber system. i'll tell you why.

lets say it's Febuary and it's well known the big brute wilds rule the rivers. it would be very queer to land a true mid 20s or bigger on anything else but a PW drift style.

imagine that over the years folks ask you a very repetive question of...

"what did the bite feel like?"

as a nancy bobber tosser all you can say is " I really don't know cause I was USING A BOBBER!!!!!!!!!!!!

try to picture sam kinisen saying that! "USING A PHFUCKEN BOBBER"!!!

SO BASICALLY YOU HAVE ZERO CLUE OF THE SAVAGE BITE!!!

dodge the bobbers during wild hog months, you'll thank youself for the rest of you life.

Best way to fish them my friend, flydog those babies and you shall be rewarded............the best floats to use are the original dinks sliders in the 6 " variety or the new Fly's fishing products ones...........oh there not on the market yet but soon will be.........
I also like the DNE in the 35 gram version ( he said Gram ) if you can find them fished with a sliding slinky.........See fly and friends go fishing video....

Oh yeah, not released yet......................

Peace

mild buzz yes, solid hardly.

my point is this, bobbers catch fish. bobbers don't teach a steelhead mouth bite. they never have never will. if a guy just wants to put notches in a card to feel experienced and smugly say i punched 15 winter steelhead. bobbers will do that. basically a guy still has zero clue on quality experience.

this post was derived under a mild whiskey buzz.

Dan reminds me of the little dog that enjoys sniffing out other dogs (ussually larger dogs) butts. finds them and proceeds to sniff their butts. I believe it exhilerates DanS. Of all the Butts on this site, I do believe he gets a certain high or boner in posting after Brewer.

I’ve noticed that Abu Loomis has the same butt sniffing disorder too. When ever Merg posts, Abu has sniff it out, then reply in a poor manor.
Abu takes the disorder further, in a imature attitude.

Back on topic, bobbers and worms are nate candy I fish 24" leaders and small worms 4" if clarity is their. 1 ounce slider boobers and egg sinkers. I like to flair cut my worm heads as I have noticed that they dance around alot better since your kind of free flowing with the current versus the drift fishing method that actually slow the worm down versus the current speed, I also agree with" Brew" thou and love the monster take of a drift fished worm bite, but bobber fishing worms when moving from hole to hole in the drift boat will daily produce fish!!!PEACE

The only thing worse than bobbers are downriggers. Or my its the "flyfishers" who use strike indicators. They are bobber fishin!

HUH?

I found the opposite to be true. Braid doesn't float as well or as high as a good mono and it is has zero memory so it will wrap around the rod tip a lot.

The main advantage to braid is no stretch in my experience. This is good for hooking them on long drifts but not so good for putting the wood to the fish where a little cushion can help.

I use #30 sufix 832 and it float higher than any line I have ever experienced. If your using the wrong braid it wont float too well. I would agree that one of the advantages with the braid is the fact that is does not stretch but even more so I think the floating qualities that allow for a long drift that's not dragging your float around as the line tries to catch up to the float. I have used maxima and p line mono and didn't like the results. I thought the izor line did well tho.
Also the braid has a lot of memory (especially if you wax it like you should) the memory in the line keeps the wraps loose around the rod tip if it does wrap and you can always just flick the tip of the rod to straighten out the line. the mono will wrap tight and require you unwrap it by hand.(not fun with a 10.6")
All of this is my own opinions and its what I have experienced.

3 inch pink worm size 1 hook a tapered shot pattern and a float with the pin rod = sickness

6 inch pink worm big jig head inline sinker big bobber = lame

Just my take on pink worms, can't stand fishing them as everybody and ther mom seems to use them now
