I still can't see a difference (at least a significant one) between the stock markets and gambling. I have been quite fortunate in the market, but I don't think it means I was at all smart, I think it means I was lucky.
B You are definitely not alone .... although a few stocks have done me well ... a few others have completely trashed any logical thought process.

Over the long term, stocks have followed an upward trend.
Your odds of beating a casino have remained constant.

This is what I'm wondering: the market reacted today on news Euro nations were selling massive amounts of debt to banks and other financial institutions and those B's and OFI's used heavily discounted money to buy that debt. Sounds good until you realize the interest those countries have to pay back is upwards of 7% or so. Where do those Euro countries get the money to pay that rate?

Hank, I think your glass is 1/2 empty. Pour some more koolaid. I didn't write those stories Dave, I'm just passing them along. You choose which to pass along. One can always find market geniuses that are certain the market is about to shoot up - or down.

Here ya go Dave...quit whinin'. Buckle Up! Wall Street strategists see U.S. stocks rising 12% next year, but most of the gains will come in the second half. Europe's response to its problems will call the tune. The case for big dividend payers.

Did someone accuse you of having original thought?

Your problem is you listen to that crap. The next day the market goes up yet nothing has changed.

Hank also sagely told us that hyperinflation was just around the corner - that was about two years ago. But the idiots Hank listens to told him it was as certain as night folowing day. Yet . . . .

If so then it must make good bait because you are following behind eating it up. I'll eat some peanuts just for the little performing monkey.

Did someone accuse you of having original thought? stlhead hasn't had a thought, original or otherwise, since the Johnson administration. Nothing exists in a vacuum.
