As always Dan nailed it.
As my old company commander told us new recruits - "Pretty women are just like horse [Bleeeeep!] and swallows. You find them all over the world."
I have been to 21 countries and saw really pretty women in all of them.

I fight this schitt on every outdoor message board on the internets. Everyone tries to generalize this place and you are truly foolish to attempt that. California is what you make it and most lazy people cant get off their asss and make things happen. But they sure spend a lot of time bitching about it. I try to live life in high gear. If you live north of San Francisco and cannot create a great outdoor lifestyle it's your own goddamn fault. I argue it till i'm blue in the face, California ain't the best place in the United States, but it sure as Hell ain't the worst either. Can't for the life of me understand the helpless / hopeless attitude of many California residents and the hatred of us as a whole. Look at my photo album. http://salmonella.smugmug.com/Hobbies/Hunting/16530223_FVSTX#1244512056_6dgXi Nearly ALL of it is filled with unguided do it yourself hunting and fishing done right here in California. I've had fishing that rivals Alaska, fantastic hunting where I could easily kill my two bucks every year. I passed up 42 legal bucks last season looking for the best I could find. I DO hunt mostly private ground, but that didn't fall in my lap either, I'm sure that if I lived in Montana, Colorado or Wyoming I'd have private ground too because I'D MAKE IT HAPPEN. I hunt public ground too, backpacking miles into one of the big Northern California wilderness areas and know I can find good bucks there too, I just have to drive several hours to that spot, where if I hunt private it is less than 10 minutes away and I can go at the drop of a hat. NO I don't live way out in Modoc County or up in the remote corner of the state. I live about an hour north of San Francisco. The difference? My desire, I drive 2 hours to the nearest salmon or steelhead rivers (often 5 hours). I drive 5 hours to Modoc County for good coyote hunting, I drive 4 hours to hunt high country blacktails. Oh, and forget about the notion that I'm some rich guy that buys his way into all of this, I work in a lowly grocery store making 20 bucks an hour, that's peanuts in this state. What I'm driving at is I get so goddamn weary of negative helpless people bashing the place that I live. Year in and year out I kill my game, catch beautiful fish, whack a few turkeys and coyotes while it seems that so many others just sit and bitch about the lack of opportunity, the shittty politics, the urban sprawl, on and on and on. If you have the desire and are willing to get off your dead asss you can have an incredible life as an outdoorsman here in California OR....you can join the rest and sit back and bitch about it. I know which one I'll choose.

I will not move back to California. Sorry, I'm here to stay. It's not the weather I love, or the people so much as its the kelts. Lots of kelts to catch and they will bite just about anything.

It's simply a numbers game. If 1 chick in 100 is worth looking at, then you'll find way more of them when you draw from a population of 37 million than you will from 7 million.
Add to that, that California weather tends to lead to less clothes being worn, and that leads to more fit and tan things being seen than pale and pasty things being seen.
There are exceptions, but I'm afraid that's the rule. Doesn't change the percentage of good looking girls compared to the not so hot ones...Yes, there are more babes down there because there's way more people, but there are also a lot more broke ones.... All I'm saying, and I know many think I'm spewing out my @$$, the girls down there (NorCal I'm referring to) weren't EVERYWHERE like everyone says it is in California... And without question there were more fit girls up here than down there.....Lots of muffin tops and thick chicks to watch out for....

Yah gotta allow KK a bit of slack. He has PDSS and can't really help himself. He attempts to think and be droll too. Peat Dust Stress Syndrome is a destroyer of gray matter. Not that he had any to start with.

Burning man? If you drive thru Death Valley on your way to Burning Man from Seattle, you need a new map, and a new GPS That's about 800 miles out of your way, times two. Fish on... Todd

I've been to WA and points throughout the globe and the ratio of hotties-to-skanks is the same wherever you go...except Iceland. That country, for whatever reason, has a higher percentage of the hottie variety than any place I've ever been. If you think Arcata,CA doesn't have hot babes, you haven't done a walk-through of Humboldt State.

Never did burning man..... Just like to camp in the desert after a long wet Washington winter, it helps if your girlfriend likes it too. Enjoy Peaceful Easy Feeling.. which east coasters? new yorkers? mid atlantic? new england (including boston) ? generalizing much? Maine and New Hampshire are pretty cool along with upstate New York... but you know I'm talkin' about New York City to Miami and every metropolis in between....Boston gets bonus Ben Affleck points.

I like to camp in the desert and fish for steelhead in the morning. The coyote call, the sweet smell of sage and the gentle roar of the Desert Queen......

Met Ginger with the green eyes from Lake Elsinsore that night. Fond memories.

1965. Beach Boys released California Girls.
1967. Good friend and I graduated from high school. Thought a road trip would be cool. Never been to CA. Throw swim trunks and flip flops in car trunk. Fill rest of space with Rainier and Olympia.
San Francisco, Haight-Ashburry, culture shock, and it was all good.
Santa Cruz, the boardwalk, the beach, CA girls, rock music at Coconut Grove, CA girls, camping on the beach, CA girls, drag racing, CA girls, a little mishap and a small jail. Yeah, they're all that. Allegedly there were muffin girls in CA too, but they stayed home and didn't go to the beach much. Yeah, California girls.

Good times for sure Always wished we would have road tripped directly east and when we hit the other coast turn right and keep going
