Cal wasn't Pac-12 Champs but they did have 24 wins overall. That was a factor.

Why didn't the Dawgs get in? Beats me, but ESPN had this to say.

Washington Huskies (21-10, 14-4 Pac-12; RPI: 70; SOS: 94)

What the committee would say: This team went 7-6 in the nonconference, and its best win came at home against UC-Santa Barbara. Its best overall win came against either Oregon or Arizona. It lost by 19 at home to South Dakota State. Sure, it won its league, but so what? The Pac-12 went 1-29 in nonconference play against the RPI top 50 this season, and if Washington was so good -- or at least as good as its obvious talent -- it would have dominated that league and made an emphatic statement in the Pac-12 tourney. Instead, it lost to Oregon State. No sympathy here.

What fans would say: East Coast bias! OK, maybe not: We admit the Pac-12 was really bad. But UW did win the league, and no power-conference regular-season champion has ever missed the NCAA tournament. Plus, before you go ripping on UW's nonconference performance, please account for the fact that it narrowly lost to Duke and Marquette in a matter of days on the East Coast in early December. If you've seen this team play, you know it can make a deep tournament run. Isn't that worth something? (Answer: No. But UW fans seem to keep making this argument anyway.)

The pups got shafted & rightly so....

Here's hoping the Dawgs make a deep run in the NIT. And show them MF's that even though they MJ'ed their way into PAC 12 regular season Champs.....and Bowed out in their 1st round game. The Committee got this decision wrong!

GO COUGS!!!

Doesnt matter at this point. What matters is they hold a team meeting, Romar tells them to STFU and quit whining and move on.

Then hold a brutal practice monday before getting ready for a home NIT game.

"Washington will begin play at home against Texas-Arlington. The winner of that game will face the winner of No. 4 Northwestern and No. 5 Akron. Also in the Huskies' side of the bracket, No. 3 Oregon will host No. 6 LSU, and No. 2 Dayton will travel to No. 7 Iowa -- the only case in the first round where the higher seed plays at home.

Dayton can not host an NIT game because the Flyers' home court is the site of the opening round of the NCAA tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tennessee starts at home against MEAC regular-season champion Savannah State. The winner then faces the winner of a game between No. 4 Middle Tennessee and No. 5 Marshall. No. 3 La Salle faces No. 6 Minnesota and No. 2 Miami hosts No. 7 Valparaiso.

Seton Hall begins against Stony Brook, with the winner moving on to face the winner of No. 4 Mississippi State and No. 5 UMass. No. 3 Drexel will play No. 6 UCF, and No. 2 Saint Joseph's faces No. 7 Northern Iowa.

Patriot League champions Bucknell travel to Arizona, and No. 4 Oral Roberts hosts No. 5 Nevada. Third-seeded Stanford starts against No. 6 Cleveland State, and No. 2 Mississippi will play No. 7 Illinois State.

Madison Square Garden in New York hosts the March 27 semifinals and March 29 final."

This thing has the high potential to shape up as a Pac tourney part II rofl

It is what it is ...

Good luck Coogs in the CBI ...

Just hard to get excited about the NIT.

The local sports guy just did a piece on how badly we get out-recruited by the traditional B-ball power schools on our own turf.
He named off about 8 local kids that are playing in the tournament for various teams.

Coogs get past SF and the only ones they need to worry about is the Beavs.

That is a great bracket. Best thing of the CBI is the best of 3 championship

Got my NCAA bracket. Ended up with NC, St Mary's, Wisconsin, W. Virginia, Florida, Long I. Brooklyn, New Mexico St., and the S Dakota St. Jackrabbits who beat the Huskies.

What the heck is the CBI? The NIT field looks decent.

College Basketball Invitational ...

Actually has some of the most exciting games all season every year. AS for UGAYLA ... if you didnt need another reason to despise them ... here it is. Even though they suck they are still too good for the cbi.

Fk them. chain

UCLA was not among the 32 teams selected for the NIT and the school will not accept an invitation from the CBI or CIT, meaning Bruins' season is over.

UCLA (19-14) was a bubble team for the NIT after finishing fifth in the Pac-12 and then bowing out in the second round of the Pac-12 tournament. Coach Ben Howland said the team would accept an NIT invitation, but UCLA's name did not come up when the bracket was announced Sunday night.

Washington and Arizona were seeded No. 1 while Oregon and Stanford were also selected and seeded No. 3.

Because UCLA will not play in the post season, the college careers of seniors Lazeric Jones and Jerime Anderson have ended.

"It’s going to be tough but we got another part of my life to live," Jones said. "I still have to finish school and hopefully I’ll stay playing basketball on another level after this."
