Pulled the trigger on a VacMaster chamber vacume sealer.

Orderd the Ary Stainless Steal VP215C and 1000 4 mil 8X12 bags from an outfit called QualityMatters out Tigard Or on Friday and it was on my doorstep Tuesday evening. Shipping was free, which was a good thing considering the machine and the bags weighed 140 pounds. No sales tax either.

The macine is simply amazing I couldn't find enough stuff to bag up.
Even opened one of my jars of albacore and bagged it up. Can't wait to do some razors and not have the machine try to suck up the juices.

Now I am ready for a new season of catching.......

Are you really comparing a $20 food saver to a borderline commercial unit????????????

From your post dipschit, directly after someone stated they picked up a new unit.... Talking about the "best money I've ever spent" after someone spent 4 digits on a real nice unit sure sounds like you were.....

Maybe the Gamefishin crowd likes those $20 units to package up their Duwamish Pinks and Nisqually chums on the river....

ok. let me rephrase that...

congrats on your pick up Alpine.. sounds like a fine machine.. how do you think they compare to the VacuPak sealers? or the top of the line Food Savers models? what about the DMC sealers, we used one of those to seal our shrimp up a few years back...

i purchased a cheap POS handheld rechargeable, but, for the money, it was very well spent, i have fish that i sealed 6 months ago in the fridge, and theres still no air in there whatsoever... best 19.99 i ever spent...

Knuck, i dont fish either of those rivers... i like to be able to breathe.. thumbs

Chamber vacume sealers dont't suck the air out of the bag, they remove the air from the chamber along with what is in the bag down to as low as -1 atmosphere, they seal the bag then allow the air back in the chamber.
Cool to watch. When i bagged the tuna, the liquid began to turn to vapor (atomized) the pressure was so low.

Yes the ones with a lid. You can bag liquids in them.

There is no comparison, and I think that is what a few were trying to say above. Throwing a Food Saver into this conversation is the equivalent of bragging about your Prius in a thread about formula 1 racing.

thats what the DMC one we used was, my sister inlaws family owns a meat store, and we did it with theirs.. after suckin the air out tho, it was flushed with gas, i think it was nitrogen, then sealed... pretty cool to watch indeed...

might want to try it out on some eggs, they deffinately shouldnt crush with that process...
