Just curious if we have any NW Washington Bear hunters on this site? I am getting prepared for another bear season starting on the 1st of August and am hoping that this year will be a successful one, I have been at this bear hunting for 4yrs now and haven't even seen a single bear, I have gotten keys to private gates have hunted at least 20+ times each season and just don't know what more I can do, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks a bunch.

I as well would love to know where a good location to hunt Bear would be. I am a NEW hunter this is my first year. I am hunting with a good friend who has hunted Dear in the past but never Bear.

Suggestions? ryan@mrpennies.com

what part of the state are you hunting. if you are near mt rainier i can steer you in the right direction, otherwise all i can tell you is to find the foodsource and watch it like a hawk. berry patches are a good spot. find them and scour the area for bear sign if you find some keep at that spot and you will get a bear.
good luck

Ya' I would agree the best thing to do is scout berry fields and when you find sign and the size of print you want whatch it like a hawk......sooner or later you will see your bear!

Try this go to your local K mart buy the most cheezy pair of spandex and and get that pepper spray they really like. Head out joging on any big city eco trail and you ll for sure find one.
Now in all seriousness the bear are thicker this year then Ive ever seen them find food and water. Also bear have awsome since of smell do anything in your power to cover your scent like wash all gear in scent free uv free soap. Use cover spray like skunk or cow elk. Most of the bear ive seen this year from sitting in the same spot right before dark over looking blackberry patch. Good luck hope this helps.

a good area is the clearwater unit in late augest early sept. go high and look for berry patches and crap the size of dinner plates eek , when you find sign that you can see from a distance (crap) find a stand and wait early early mourn. late late eve.make sure you can close the deal(shoot) cause there are some big boys up there like I say big bear ,big crap (dinner plate size) thats a great area.
