.... goes thru next Friday Apr 13.

Meeting on Apr 12 to see if impacts allow an extension into the following weekend and beyond.

Go get 'em

I would rather see them close it down and allow for some fish passage to get a better feel for the run. Would be nice to at least start seeing some good passage numbers over the dam before they extend the season.

The river dropped almost two feet yesterday. Mixed blessing, less debris and less water to dilute the brown water from the Willamette.

Sat on the hook yesterday around Wauna, OR for 10 hrs. Out of 30 boats, only saw three nets fly. River was puking whole trees. We had one on long enough for a leaping F you...and then it was back on his run to who knows where.

Jump back to big flows is the result of court-directed spill.

Happy to see the extension thru 2 weekends.... unfortunately professional obligations prevent me from participating til the following weekend... by which time it will of course CLOSE. frown

My friend & I spent some time on the water at Clifton Channel today, saw 1 boated at 7:30AM, 2 more on near noon & we pulled 13 & 16# hens at 1:15 & 1:45PM (near the lower end of the tide) & just before the thunder, lightning/hail storm.

He was dragging whole herring & I had a Apex behind a small Fish Flash.

Water not that bad for color, & was 46.7 degrees.

The turbidity went up from seven to ten yesterday.

You may be better off fishing the Willamette or the clearer water plume in the mainstem. 2cents

Fish Doc - Point of order: The river levels don't change due to court-ordered spill, or any type of spill. Spill just puts more water over the spillway, and less thru the turbines. The total amount of water in the river remains the same.

If the river levels are rising it's either because of higher run-off (the snow is beginning to melt); or because the Corps of Engineers is dumping water from the storage reservoirs in anticipation of higher run-off volumes in the days ahead.

Mud please go away,

Just back from two days at Cathlamet. Thursday 2 for 2 with two rods, one wild and a small keeper. Today 2 for 3 with two keepers and one "old lady hook set" and crackerd off. Both about 14 and done by 1100AM.
Interesting weather yesterday, hail, lightning, rain and sun, repeat several times. This AM was just cool and comfortable.

Does not look like I will be able to get down again, good luck!

Chris

Duly noted... thanks for the clarification.

went down to Cathlamet Wednesday AM, fished Clifton from 7:30 - 4
Had hit around 2pm and caught 12lbr a few min later, buddy got one an hour later.
Thursday was no fish for us(LowPressure front was blamed) guide freind caught 4, lost some(boat limit)
Friday saw some fish being caught, my guide freind hooked 5, landed 3(boat limit). We did not have a bite, I blame my freinds boat 20' Hewes with large canvas sail blowing us around. But we stayed warm!
I had planned on bringing my boat up there for the month but with my back hurting(waiting for surgery approval from L&I claim appeal) I decided to fish with buddy who has been there since the 15th, and stay in his MH.
