A U.S. Navy jet reportedly crashed near Virginia Beach, Virginia, on Friday afternoon. CNN reports that the plane slammed into apartments, setting two on fire.
According to the Associated Press, 2 pilots are believed to have ejected.
WAVY.com reported that the plane in question was an F18 Strike fighter squadron 106.
In the video below, the anchor describes windy conditions whipping smoke around as firefighters work to contain the fire at the apartment complex.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- Media reports say a Navy jet crashed in Virginia Beach and the two aviators aboard are believed to have ejected before the impact.
There are no reports of any injuries on the ground. Photographs from the scene showed black smoke billowing from near some buildings.
The Virginian-Pilot quoted a spokesman for Naval Air Force Atlantic who said the F/A-18 Hornet crashed Friday in the vicinity of Birdneck Road.
A Navy spokesman reached by phone could not immediately comment.
WAVY.com posted photos of the crash, which reportedly shut down traffic on I-264.
