Maybe if you were in the same position as Santorium with a sick daughter whose illness was worsened by the stress of the campaign you would also bow out knowing that winning was unlikely.


Sick child aside, Santorium's decision to get out could not be attributed to his never, not in very,very,very long shot, circling the drain, religious nut-job stake of getting elected now could it?

Electable or not (and the consensus is not), he was running on a platform he believed in. That's no different than the Big-O running on his beliefs..or Mittens on his. If the suspension of his campaign was done with his child's best interest at heart, I applaud him for doing so.
