A group that I helped form has taken on the responsability of helping the dept. gather up a huge team of people to help with the fin clipping in May. If you want to help please go to

Signed up! Talked to fly. Said it will take about 2-3 weeks to complete all the clipping, so plenty of opportunity for us all to pitch in. Sign up and we will be contacted with dates. It's a fun fishery, would hate to see it disappear. Thanks again Fly for going to bat on this one.

Received an e-mail today. There were about 25 others on that mailing. As Moravec stated no weekend clippings. Apparently there are no hatchery personnel for oversight. Sign up and the hatchery will arrange for dates during the week.

Dates? I'm volunteering at my local schools the next two months as an aquatic education instructor. After my part time work might have a day or two to make the drive out that way if I can help???

Just got an email today. This was sent to all who have signed up so far. Looks like they can use all the help they can get. Clipping is to begin Monday May 7th @ 0800.

I have started to begin scheduling volunteers for clipping at Humptulips Hatchery. Currently, I can use each one of you as many days as you can clip. If you need directions to the hatchery, google or yahoo maps would be your best bet. The hatchery address is 1704 kirkpatrick road humptulips wa. We will start each day at 8:15 and clip until 4pm. There is a refriderator, stove and coffee pot avaiable in our breakroom for your use.
