Has anyone archery hunted Lopez Island before? (DNR Land)

What were the conditions?

Since I have to be up that way thought I might go for a walk in the woods...

Thanks moose

Nope. I don't even know where that one is. I've hunted Guemes Island fairly hard this year and have come up empty. It's all private land and I've gotten permission from several places now, but the deer population is down quite a bit from previous years according to residents there. Coincedentally, the coyote population seems to be rising. Hmm.. three by five mile island where the deer can't get away. Sounds like coyote heaven to me. smile

Maybe your Lopez Island is a better bet. What kind of season is left there for this year? My deer tag is muzzleloader this time around.

I don't think Lopez has any public land. The locals are really hunting friendly either....there are plenty of deer if you can find permission though (and bunnies).

You don't need a muzzleloader to hunt those islands, all you need is a ball-peen hammer in one hand and an apple in the other. The deer taste good too!
