I haven't been fishing much this winter with work and life schedules, plus i seriously fukked my leg (ER visits x2)up and Ive been pretty immobilized as of late...but I'm really looking forward to the bottomfish opener next week/weekend. 'Rogue and I have been busy getting spreaders and bait prepped this week, a few of you know where my first drop will be If any of you who are not part of the Sno-King PSA outing are going to be staying IN PT or fishing in the area next week we should all meet up for a brew one night in PT. From what I have heard , during the tail end of the BM fishery a good number of halibut were caught. Sound like they are in this year.... should be fun!

I caught one trolling a cut plug herring on the south end of San Juan Island. 100ft. of water right on the bottom of course. On the south end of the salmon banks. When I was BM fishing. The Sherriff boat that visited me said they were migrating thru and would probably be gone by the opener. It was about 40lbs. wish I could have kept it it was the only bite I got in two days.

If one were so motivated, where / what would you do out of Edmonds? in the Sea Kitten? (15' Arima Sea Chaser)
If you've got gas $ and the energy (I've got little of either)...
Good Luck Sky Guy! May the Flat be with you ;-)

You could run to the PT area in an hour in your boat Jeff, or fish off Double bluff, and in Mutiny and Admiralty bay...

I live in Gardiner and will be all over the peninsula chasin butts as usual. II will be in La Push thursday and friday if the weather permits, if not I will be in PA. I work in PT saturday, so I will be fishing Sequim/PT before work. Up for beers anytime. I live in Gardiner so if anybody wants to meet for a fish fry , bonfire, and beers we can party here as well. For all you butt and ling fisherman, there is PREMIUM "PACIFIC" 9+ in. black label herring with full scale retention currently available at several sporting goods stops on the peninsula this year including swain's, it is the best herring thats been available in 10+ years. Also available is 8-9in premium purple label. All baits vacuum packed real tight for excellent longevity in your freezer. For multiple case order or for more info, contact me at 360-301-0695 or 360-928-9566 and ask for Chris. Sending you a pm sky-guy!
