Note how "not dropping like a rock" the gas prices will be...and they'll say it's because you're buying gas that was purchased back when the price was higher.

Then when the oil price rises again, somehow...miraculously, some might say...the gas prices will go up approximately seven seconds later, in response to the "market price".

But we're already producing more than during the Bush years...and clearly producing more than we need already.

What we need to do is stop exporting oil to China and India, and stop buying it from OPEC and Canada. 'Course then we wouldn't be playing patty cake with Saudi Arabia anymore...which I would say is a fuckin good thing, since they have more terrorists there than Yemen, Afghanistan, and Pakistan combined, and human rights abuses right up there with China.

A good example that the crude oil market does not follow the law of supply and demand. But when the price drops then they will stop drilling immediately. Market manipulation. This is why there needs to be an investigation. I hope the speculators loose their money big time.

Price went UP 20 cents overnight at a gas station I drive by every day in McCleary. Must be a Grays Harbor thing... Or else all the supply and demand arguments are lies. Actually, I imagine the 20 cent case was an anomaly/mistake/etc., but so far, Todd's guess that prices would not drop seems spot on where I live.

Seems to me they are systematically raising prices significantly, then dropping them back a dime or so to appease the masses, and finally bumping it up to the next level. They're training us to gradually accept higher and higher prices. Don't think so? Ask yourself how you would feel about prices returning to just under $3/gallon. Sound good to you? If so, you should see my point, as that price sent us all into a freak-out a couple years ago.

I don't know when it will happen, but I think we'll see the dreaded $5 gallon of gas before the end of the year. Anybody have a guess as to what the price will be when the camel's back finally gives way?
