Todd Same here, I miss the old days of the Lakers vs Boston. Could happen... Fakers are up next, after this one. About 7:00 PM Pacific. Meta Douchebag World Peace faces James Harden for the first time since the elbow incident. I hate the Fakers but that friggin Kobe is good. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are feakin' good as well.

That friggin' Kobe is one of the reasons I hate the Lakers...along with them being from L.A.

You can't blame wins and losses on refs. Period. Anyone that has played organized basketball on any level can attest to that.
This playoffs has been interesting with low seeds moving on and with injuries to key players its anyones game.

I used to LOVE watching the NBA and particulularly the Payton/Kemp Sonics. After watching enough, it became pretty obvious that certain games, and potentially titles, were being decided by refs. It even looked rigged. And, it was. I think it is corrupt from the top down.
I was done at that point and I'll never care again.
As a side note, I can't believe anyone from Seattle would actually be fighting to get a team back here. It is like asking for a refill after someone pissed in your glass. The "star" treatment on fouling has always annoyed me.

Because you should know that refs don't control your execution on either side of the ball. Its a cheap excuse but if your shots aren't falling or you aren't playing proper defense, sure blame the ref.

I'm talking about the NBA, where star players get the benefit of fouls, opposed to lesser name players. Are you aware of the NBA Ref that admitted to fixing games?

Yes and that's why there are multiple referees and a head coach that can get into the ear and influence calls.
It is what it is with star players. The nba is a business and the star players sell jerseys and sell out arenas. Its a business and has always been that way. They don't get calls all the time either. Look at Tyrone Lue when he used to guard Iverson, the beat down the pistons put on MJ, Tony Allen in all of his big games with the Celtics and even now with the Grizzlies.
Once again as a person that has played ball since 4th grade, I would expect a higher basketball IQ..

I watch a lot of NBA hoops. Just watched my C.'s lose on a tough but correct call on Garnett. Personally, I think the NBA officiating has been stellar for the last 3-4 years. I don't see a bunch of calls where players get star treatment. It is a super physical game and very difficult to officiate.
That said, there was a period of time around 2000 where the officiating was awful. The NBA has always had a black cloud hovering over it. As long as Stern is running the show there will be questions.
I'm gonna watch the OKC/Laker game tonight too. The amount of talent on display in this series is preposterous. If asked to guard Kevin Durant, Jesus would be looking behind him for help.
Go C.'s, cds

I think it has improved, especially after the Bad Ref scandal.
