looks like it opened yesterday. You can retain Steelhead, spring chinook jacks, and sockeye........ usually gets good this time of year.

Please correct me if I am wrong....

I was busy fishing with 75 fifth grade students at outdoor camp. Hope to be back down there soon.

Perhaps you can share some good colors for blades of prawn spinners? What blade style/ size would you suggest?

I do the brass, silver, or charteuse #3-4 blades depending on light conditions. Six to ten foot water near Cathlamet. Should I be changing blades and fishing deeper?

Do you fish for steelhead in the LCR the way you do in other rivers? Or is it more like salmon fishing with trolling or sitting on the hook with spinners or plugs set out?

Sitting on the hook with #3 and #4 spinners is usually deadly. So are the classic orange flatfish. It's pretty easy fishing when you're in the lane. Finding the lane is the only hard part.

It's more a trolling show on the flood. Then anchor in the shallow water on the ebb tide. Blades and bait are a good bet for some shallow bites in the colder than normal CR.

Well....
Fished off the bank last weekend near longview. Had more interactions with salmon than steelhead. Fun but frustrating at the same time. Hard turning loose a hatchery springer..

Jdarr is right on as far as small spinners. Orange, polished brass, and bronze have been good with red beads. Jdarr, did those "slivers of death" ever produce? Curious..

Slab,

I used to sell a lot of 3,4's in rainbow patterns. Almost allways colorado blades.

A cool trick I learned, instead of stacking beads slide a bobber stop down your leader then put two beads, plastic clevis blade program. You can adjust the distance from bait. Good with herring and prawns..n.

Regular size spin-n-glo fished on a dropper, while on anchor.
