I remember that day now... That must have been a f4b angle. I don't have it in my file. Nice work team eyeFISH!

I'm sure he got Okuma gear for the ad, but does he ever use it? My experience with a Catalina reel wasn't a good one. I have heard nothing but good things about the Makaira though. Alan Tani said that's the only reel he'd fish right out of the box.

First off, as Twitch already implied, a HUGE thanks to f4b for capturing the image.
Love the rod... got one for LMWS long before the ad campaign was conceived. She sure put that SST herring rod thru the paces last year... but usually without herring.
Never used the reel, so no comment on the Catalina.
Yes, there was an offer for gear (pink SST's for the girls) but boat regulars CanyonMan and f4b might be a bit phobic about gettin' business done with less-than-manly rods. I opted for cold hard cash, which f4b generously donated back to the boat fund.
He da man!

Not to be too big a wet blanket, but it's a lot harder to make and market that image than to "pose" for it. Way to go F4B and Doc.

I've barely been on the water with any Okuma gear but if someone brings it, it has been about 50/50 on it lasting for the day. Considering track record on your boats the last few months, that sounds pretty damn good True. This year, I'd have been way better off with a quiver of Ugly Sticks... or pool sticks. At least I got to watch someone else break a rod last week. A wonderful high-stick explosion nonetheless! I DO think the pic is cool and mucho bonus points to Doc for getting his daughter into the mag!
