Giving a shout out to R&B Tackle and their new 50/50 copper/silver spoons.

These things are KILLER!

Can't wait to give these guys a swing this summer!

I almost feel sorry for the steelhead up North. laugh

(lighting and color on the photo sucks. The silver is not tarnished yellow looking...as in this photo. rofl The spoons look great!)

I hooked and lost my largest fish on an R&B this last winter season. It was in a deep swift boulder filled tailout and I was using the 2/3 copper. The thing was never under control but was easily upper teens and jumped several times before running up river so fast my line was slack for way too long. It is the only fish that still haunts me from the 2011-2012 winter season and I have R&B to thank.

Those look really good and I am going to have to look into getting some.

". . . I almost feel sorry for the steelhead up North."

Why Parker? You going up north?

Kidding, but those do look very nice. I might invest in some myself, as I lost most of my scavenged spoons to some large woody debris last fall while trying to get some silvers to come out and play. As a fisherman who has tied his own flies for decades for pennies, it pains me to splurge a wad of cash on bait. But after reading in another thread that Max can't get decent eggs for $25 - $30, maybe I'm a tad too frugal.

But when it comes to spoons, I'm always more attracted to the 50-50s, even if the fish aren't.

Still got tons of the silver/gold 50/50's...the copper/silver, copper/brass, and brass/black are on the drawing table now, and have been for a bit...we'll have at least one of them on the next go-round.

Fish on...

You think I'm the only person who has these spoons who might be heading North this year? Besides, I only travel with my spey rod and ascot when going North! wink

A drawing board does me and others no good.......

Get them off the board and out as a real product! I'd be all over the brass/black spoons!

This thread reminds me of one time where a cripple told another cripple not to use the crutch!

The crutch helps you easily getfrom A to B, but it's not the preferred way to get from A to B, because there are more elegant, cooler, ascot-wearer approved methods ways to get from A to B.

I can't believe I just wrote that.

The day you pick up a spey rod and start using it is the day we'll see a post up here on double stacking flies.

I'm not talking about two flies (upper and lower), I'm talking about two flies literally stacked to each other!

PS. Can't wait to see the post and photos after your Dean trip this fall - that's if you guys are still going!

laugh

PS. Hey Salmo, do you ever double stack your ascots?

Supply side issues with black & brass hardware providers? wink

Magic Markers in Black over hammered brass perhaps?

If you alter the product doesn't it lose the fish catch guarantee?

I like the idea of Brass/Copper including some super small ones for ultralight trout tackle.

I don't have ascots, double stacked or otherwise. Stam is long on ascot talk but lacks follow-through with delivery.

I can't believe Sky Guy has a "do not double stack" avatar! And he might as well save his helicopter Loonies, they don't 'llow no double-stacking on the Dean.

I swear, Twitch could take a photo of a fish caught on a bread crumb, and it would still look way cool.
