sorry to see this. you may be outta luck. if anyone has a solution, i'm interested in hearing it.
I once bought a 10 foot rod off ebay. No insurance. The seller shipped in one of those triangle US Postal Service shipping tubes. I came home one day and saw that the tube had broken in half during shipment. The rod broke in multiple places.
The seller would not give me a refund. From my research, it looked like a remedy thru the USPS was also a dead end. I even called the manufacturer of the rod and to see if they would have pity on me and send me a new rod. No dice.
I actually ended up fixing the rod myself. Took some scrap blanks from another broken rod, and cut sleeves from the scraps and used the sleeves to piece the broken rod back together. Doesn't look too bad, and its a great rod for squid, trout, and panfish

sucks.
I'd for sure contact the seller. A lot of these ebay sellers will work their assses off to make it right. If the packaging was sufficient enough, and the seller could prove it, there SHOULD be some compensation. I know UPS will cover $100 even if there's no ins. Not sure what USPS policy is on this though.
And like redhawk said, use that video.

Last time that happened to me, I contacted the seller, took a picture and offered to send it to them. They said just hang on to it and they would take care of the rest. They shipped me a new one, and I'm sure settled the issue with UPS.....I don't know for sure, but I never heard from UPS and that was just fine by me.

Dude... I hate to say it, but put your faith in the PayPal coverage (if you payed by payPal) because likely the USPS will tell you "That sucks, but you didn't insure it." I sent some of Tim Wallis' arrows to Stam a while back using a box I had just received arrows in via shipping, then wrapped that box in more heavy cardboard, wrote "FRAGILE: DO NOT BEND OR CRUSH" on all 4 sides of the box...AND.... they got to Stam, crushed and broken! Went directly to USPS and they said if I didn't insure it, tough luck. Pay attention on certain fragile/expensive items; rods, reels, etc... and you'll see that many are sent FedEx. They are the most expensive, but I've had many manyfacturers tell me after so many problems with "brown" and USPS, FedEx is all they'll use. Hope some good comes out of this for ya A.P.!

Bummer, Aaron...as someone who ships/receives hundreds of packages per month with USPS, I find it to be rare, but it happens...I've definitely received the bag'o'[Bleeeeep!] with the "sorry your schit got all fukked up" note in it...a couple of my customers have, too, but luckily there were no parts missing or damage, so they were able to get what they ordered no problem.
I've never got any satisfaction out of USPS on anything involving uninsured damage, so don't put much faith or work into them helping you out.
Talk to the seller, he might just make it right himself...that's what I'd do if it happened to one of my customers.
Hopefully you used PayPal, they actually are pretty good at helping out when you need them.
Good luck!
Fish on...

Never would have happened with a Curado...
J/K
That totally sucks. If all else fails try the manufacturer. Abu might just send you a replacement. Sometimes the manufacturer will take pity on you.

Wow, what a mangled mess. That sucks.
Personally, I've purchased many items online and luckily have never had anything like that happen. (Fingers crossed)
Fortunately, PayPal does stand behind mishaps like this. Give them a call... soon.

That sucks, but you shouldn't worry about it. File a claim through eBay and if the seller won't take it back, you will be covered under the eBay protection policy.
Just a further note. Although most people don't realize it, the burden of damaged goods in shipping is always the sellers responsibility. There is a common belief that insurance protects the buyer, but in actuality it protects the sellers interest. If you do a little digging you will note there is only one exception, for FOB freight. As this is not part of an eBay transaction, it does not apply. eBay changed their policy a couple of years ago to better align there interests with those of the buyer. When you collect under their buyer protection policy, they turn around and charge the seller.

My COBRA application and check is "lost in the mail" . I'm dying. Replacment will be sent via "Next Day Air" or by some certifiable means.
We eventually receive some pieces of mail with an indication "no such address" . We have been here 30 years just south of main street in bellevue. We think it gets thrown in with the carrier who goes north of main street and then just gets returned to sender as undeliverable. Funny to get a call from someone who has sent you hundreds of pieces of mail going WTF? They Care!

Here's my story...........I shipped a pair of Simms Pro dry's back to be exchanged..........Never got there but I insured them for 1000.00 Bucks ! So USPS tries to track to no avail, (a mailman somewhere is wearing pro dry's while doing his route) so I say .........Ok mother.[Bleeeeep!] write me the check for the cool grand I insured them for..........they say its going to be a while, I say not BITCHE"S in my Superfly kind of way..........so it goes up the chain and they agree to write me a check..........Then some [Bleeeeep!] smart [Bleeeeep!] calls me and says pro dry's are not that much money...... we will send you the amount for the retail Value..........I say fu..ck you, put your boss on the horn. Long story short.........I got the originals for guide price......insured for way more and made about 400.00 bucks off of those bastards we call the USPS ! So learn from that and take them to school next time.......I did and it felt great !!!!!

AP-
If that was a Revo STX, see if you can just get your money back. Cabelas has them in the Bargain cave for $159. Combine it with a $20/off$150 coupon (easily google-able) and now you get a $200 Revo for $139
