Drift,

I am not positive if he was in the boat or not, he is the one that was going to take me on some floats this year, and he usually goes in a boat, so i don't know, he very well could have been on the bank..

I just figured there would be a few hatch fish still around there, why would there be a season on them if there wasn't? Just like the Carbon has a season for hatchery fish, and it hasn't been planted since 08 or 09 I believe...

Redd

I believe it was just winters. Though, a lot of summers used to be caught up that way.

That is exactly why I thought it may be a good idea to try up that way, from just below Soos on up to Kanasket..If there is nothing there however, what would be the point... I have heard of others having decent success in the areas mentioned recently, but I am not sure if they are hatch fish or wild fish...

You should title it "Lings off of the Piers and Other Random Thoughts"

Since when does line weight have anything to do with anything.. The leader is what matters, not the mainline IMO.. Do you give sh!t to guys running 40 pound braid for float fishing? And dont give me any crap about how you need 40 pound braid to float fish effectively, because I know guys that use 15 and 20 and catch just as many fish.. It is the leader and whats in the fishes face that matters..

Wrong, it is what ply of sh!t wipe you use. The higher the ply the better, less likely for skin to sh!t contact.

nevermind, i will try my luck...

The fish produced at the hatchery also provide for important in-river recreational and Muckelshoot Tribal fisheries. The Soos Creek Hatchery currently raises and releases Fall Chinook salmon, coho salmon, and both Winter and Summer run Steelhead. The Soos Creek Hatchery also supports the Icy Creek Ponds and the Palmer Ponds by providing all incubation and early rearing for those facilities.

I used to fish there all the time 2, but I'm about 2-3 hours away from where I usually fished it.. So right now, that river is not an option for me tommorow.. I am closer to the Cow, and dont feel like driving down there either..

I just figured I know the Green well enough that I can hit a couple spots, have around 800+ or so feet of river to fish, and if one is laying there, I should be able to get it to bite.. And its only 30 minutes away.. Plus it wont cost me 80 bucks for the trip..

I usually start off with eggs, then if i don't get any action, that is the next thing I do.. Then to pink worms, then to spinners, then last jigs if i feel like it...

Please explain your thought process that causes you to fish those baits and lures in that order. If you use a thought process.

Because I usually get all my fish on eggs, then I run out of eggs, and start swinging spoons and pick up fish that way..If I get bored swinging spoons, or haven't hit anything, I run pink worms, with a corkie to float it up a bit, I don't know enough about jig fishing to do it effectively just like I said previously..

For the last time, you have to understand my dad isn't here anymore, so the only information that I get, is from people like you... I fish by myself, or with my brother.. I have friends that fish areas I fish during salmon, so they are there, but I show up, and fish by myself, away from people...So I have had to figure out pretty much most of what I know from experience, with a hint of help from people such as yourself..

Chuck, it wasn't funny, especially from someone who doesn't have a damn car and seatbelt to even buckle...
