Length in inches x girth in inches x girth in inches divided by 775 is my old and worn out memory is thinkin'.
fp
40 x 21= 840 x 21= 17640 divided by 775= 22.76129 Sounds close but there are probably other numbers to use.
fp That's what I always use when on the river. Length times Girth squared divided by .775
