went to the range today just to polish the skills, but I can't seem to remeber for a 7mm rem mag with 150gr at 100 yds is it 2 inches up or 2 inches down to be dead on at 200 yds.

If you want to be dead on at 200yds,you'll need to be about 1.25"-1.5" high at 100yds.

I generaly use 2" high at 100 yards to keep me in the bread basket out to about 250, or just a bit farther. I shoot a .300 Win Mag with 150 grain bullets.

I don't have my loading data at hand, but HBP is in the Ballpark.

My favorat round 1.25 is corect but you should just sight iti n at 265 and you will be in the basket from 50 on to 330.

Why do you guys use magnums but shoot such little bullets?

Here is a helpful site for getting ballistics:

scottd ,

right on dude. what you said. why a big mag just to spit out a little bullet??

for example figure out the 300 win mag with a 180 gr nozzle balistic tip doing 3,000 fps!!!!! I know guys who are loading this gun to over 3,300 fps and shooting very small groops. Talk about some hitting power.

Or try the new Ultra mag with a 200 gr!!!! now that is hitting power!!
