I thought I'd give you guys an update on my continuing troubles getting my first brand new shotgun.
Well, Beretta as I said in my last post, was suppose to send a new shotgun and it should have been here around the 18th of September. It never arrived.
After a lot of phone time between my dad to the shop and the shop to Beretta it was determined that there was a good reason why they hadn't sent out a replacement. They don't have any! But instead of coming to this realization quickly, it was only just resolved today.
Beretta now says it's sending me a new gun which is the upgraded version of the one I was getting. Its a $400 upgrade, so I guess that's worth the 2 months+ its taken to get this resolved.
I really hope this time Beretta puts a gun in the mail... but I'm not holding my breath.

Well, pheasant season doesn't open until the 18th, so nope, not yet!
This weekend is the opener for quail, huns, and chukar, though, which I plan to hunt quite a bit this year (especially quail).

Any update on this yet, CWUGirl? Did you get the gun? I'm thinking about buying a camo Beretta A391 for all around hunting (turkey to pheasants) and I've heard quite a few horror stories about Beretta customer service.

Finally, I can post that there has been conclusion to my gun buying fiasco. On October 23rd I recieved my new shotgun and it is in perfect (new) condition. Unfortunately the gun is NOT the shotgun Beretta promised they were shipping. I was suppose to recieve a Beretta Ultralight Deluxe which was a free upgrade for having to wait so long and because they claimed the Beretta Ultralight was out of stock. Instead, a Beretta Ultralight showed up at Wades. While I'm disappointed I didn't get the upgrade, I wasn't about to insist they send it back to Beretta. Wades offered instead to discount the gun 10%, which my dad accepted. I do love my new gun. Its extremely lightweight and handles really well. But even if this turns out to be the best gun I ever own, I'll never buy another Beretta. Now I just have to have it fitted.... I should be shooting it by next season. But at least its over.

Jason, that model of Beretta is what my brother shoots 99% of the time. He loves it and says that the complaints on it not cycling are from people who don't clean their auto shotguns properly. Its never failed to cycle for him.
The good thing about that gun is that they're widely available and its easy to find parts.

Anyone buying a gun should go to Kesselrings north of Burlington. They have always beat everyone else's price and have much more in stock.. Ya, I know its a good drive, but well worth it. I have probably purchased about a dozen long and short guns there and never been disappointed. Plus they do trades and have large supply of used.

Sorry you had the issues, CWU girl. I 'found' a really good shop with GREAT prices and selection. Really good people behind the counter, too. Anybody try Bens Loans in Renton? Good prices if you want to trade, too. Give it a try. Dan
